Museum of Metropolitan-Trip Reflection

The trip to the museum was full of interest and was enjoyable. I really did enjoy the trip because it was an opportunity to see things I may never seen anywhere else. This specific museum if unique and allowed many of us students to go through new experiences together! I saw many things that caught my eye and it was from history. Many of the art that I reviewed with the tour guide had some deep meanings. One of the pieces of art was called "Between Earth and Heaven". It was designed using lots of unused wine bottle caps, and put together using copper wire. This artwork had some deep meaning that we didn't really completely put together before the tour guide escorted us to another art piece. However, I may have been on to something with my own theory. I thought that the artwork could have represented people with the gold color in the center of it. The top which looked like a leathery part, was suppose to represent the heaven and the bottom made of countless string patterns represented the earth. I don't necessarily know what exactly the painter was thinking but these are my thoughts. A painting we went to was (I'm not sure if this is 100% correct) called "Autumn Strokes". This was a painting of black and white colors all over the place as I would call it a "mess". It was really messy and it looked like the painter just put paint all over the place without thinking. However, going into depth with the painter, everything was made the way the painter wanted it to be. Nothing was made randomly, according to the painter. Most of us were surprised about the way the painter would be able to do that. Upon that moment, I learned painters don't make paintings randomly, but they usually have a purpose for doing so. That was interesting! Another painting we looked at was a little more smooth. I don't recall the name of it but I remember what it looked like. It was strokes of 3 different colors. They were big strokes of red, a dark brown and a lighter brown. We explained how the colors could represent emotions in specific ways. Like for example red could demonstrate anger. Sort of like fire in a way. I don't know exactly how to explain it but thats what it was like. I really enjoyed myself at the museum as it opened me up to what others think like.

I would design my website to be unique to my personality similar to how an artist would think. The colors, font, everything would be to my liking. The way Im feeling, my mood, everything effects the way I would make it. I would most likely use combinations of blue to show my calm mood that I am usually in. Think of it as my "default" mood. The positioning I would try to make it as neat as possible for my "target audience" to enjoy it. I would make the size of the text on the page big enough for them to read or a little smaller to fit a lot more information in it. Naming my website would be something I would like. However, as of now I can't think of a name because I haven't started designing it yet. When the time comes I will know. Only time will tell. The trip to the museum gave me some insight on how an artist makes their art the way they want, based on how they feel and trying to express their emotions, expressions and thoughts. This is the same way I am to think about designing my website. The way I make my website has to appeal to me and my audience. Everything I do is based on what I want. I have the power to change perspectives, relay ideas, and design the way I feel comfortable with. With the abilities of a web designer all of this is possible!
