Lab #15 Reflection

This lab is the first lab that is on adobe illustrator. It required us to use the information learned from the reading we absorbed. The tasks were simple but required a bit of looking for some of the options and customization tabs. Though InDesign was new to us, it wasn't hard to understand the interface well because it had similar structure and tools to illustrator and photoshop. The first task required us to make a black banana using curved lines and anchor points. It was the simplest to do and to do it I used the pen tool. The next task was to make text wrap a shape. In this case a square that would have text wrapping around it.      First I made a rectangle using the rectangle tool. Then I put a text box over it. I then made enough text to fill it and went into the wrap text option while having my rectangle selected. The text then wrapped the text around it. It was also fairly simple. Next task was to make 2 paragraph headers and body text. It was...

Lab #14 Reflection

This lab required us to utilize text in adobe illustrator. Given specific directions, I had to play around with text options and settings in many different ways. The first task was to make a word in 30 point sans-serif bold text, scaled horizontally 200 percent and tracked to -100. Of course most of this was in the settings that I had to change. Except, the sans-serif text was a little hard for me to identify. I still don't entirely get the whole idea behind sans-serif and what it means. At least I got it done right? The next task was to make a short word and kern only two of the letters, along with making the text color grey. Kern is basically spacing between two letters in a text. Making it a high value would increase the space between two letters and making it a high negative value would decrease the space between them. For it to take effect they would need to be high numbers like 100 and above or so. I noticed that upon playing around with it. The next task was to make two 60 p...

Lab #13 Reflection

This lab was another lab that required the work of a quiz on adobe illustrator. We were given some tasks and we had to complete them using the knowledge we had due to reading the chapter. It taught us how to make curved lines using the pen tool and how we could manipulate them to how the quiz expected them to be done. Since the file is saved as a pdf I cant really post it here for you to see but I can describe it. First off we were given the task of making a line with 5 points that had no curves like a sharp mountain. The next assignment was to make that line into curvy lines like rounded tops of a mountain. Then we copied the line and reflected it directly below it to connect them and make an enclosed shape in grey. The next task was harder then the rest of them. We had to reproduce the logo for a Paralympic Games as accurate as possible.  It was hard for the curves to look alike and it took a lot of effort to do it. Then we had to make a shape that looked like a drop which was ve...
