Junior Achievements / 8 hours of community service
My name is Brandon and for Junior Achievements we went to a public elementary school to teach 2nd graders. It was a very new experience considering that I never taught actual elementary schools before. My group and I had about 3 days to prepare for this event in advance. We were given a curriculum with activities to do with the students. We were assigned to teach 2nd graders about our communities. I was a little nerve racking to think about for a while. Then, when my inner confidence had sprung out, it felt like second nature when I was in the class room. When we went to the public school I was going to lead my team starting with the intro. As an introvert, but good public speaker, I had to endure a feeling of uneasiness as I was thinking what the students would think of me if I didn't do my job properly as their teacher.
