Project 2 - Favorite Teacher

The purpose of this project was to make a website in honor of a favorite teacher of our choosing. The teacher I picked was Mr. Foucault. For this project I made a website with 4 html files. The first was an index for the home page and the other three were for a biography page, subject page, and a trivia page. For every page, I used a consistent css file to make sure the style is consistent throughout the entire site. I linked each page to the css to make sure all the pages had a blue gradient background and similar font styles. I also used a consistent navigation bar for each page that would take you to a page that you clicked on. There was also a picture of Mr. Foucault on each page as well. For the index page, I added my appreciation essay for the teach, basically why I'm making this website about them. It was to express how they made an impact on my life. Mr. Foucault has done a lot to earn my respect so I thought I should make this website about him because of how amazing he has been in my life. I made it into three separate paragraph tags considering it was pretty long. For the biography page I need to interview Mr. Foucault in order to get some information on his background. I asked about 10 questions to him and recorded my answers in this page. The purpose of this page was to share a bit about the background of my favorite teacher. The next page I worked on was the subject page. This page was to display information about the subject that the teacher teaches. In my case, Mr. Foucault teaches pre-calculus so in order to display some background information about pre-calculus, I looked up some information on the internet. I also included my source at the bottom of the subject page. The last page I worked on was the trivia page. For this page I had to gather information by taking a survey from students about things related to this teacher. I asked students in my web design class to fulfill this requirement. The data that I got from this survey was the data I created pie charts about and then put them on this page. I also included one part of the data from the internet. Since Mr. Foucault is apart of the Jehovas witness religious group, I decided to add that in there too. Considering this entire website is mainly about Mr. Foucault, I wanted to get as much relevant data as I can get in there. To make this entire website I used HTML and css. Web designers would need these skills to be able to represent someone like as done in this project. If your making a page about a famous person and need information about them, you would have to interview them to get information. Also for trivia, you would need to survey others to get information (opinions) from people who know that person and what they think about things related to that person. Web designers are powerful on the internet and can log a lot about someone else or themselves.

          WBL Workshop #6 was about testing our interviewing skills. First thing that happened was us entering the room without knowing that we were going to be interviewed. So as a student you could say some of us were surprised about it. There were different people interviewing students that took place during this workshop. Students were set at different "stations" of people who would interview you. I was a little confused at first about what the interview would be about and what job we were actually being interviewed for to represent a mock interview. Then I realized that a perfect job for the situation would be something revolving around being a web designer. CTE Expo Reflection Journal

     The objective of the CTE EXPO was to engage the freshmen into seeing what the Web Design Academy was made of and what were the benefits of joining. It was also to make their interests peak as they could be exposed to these special skills.  To prepare for the CTE EXPO I just ran through looking for my best business attire I possibly had because I knew how important this event was, During the actual event I grabbed freshmen attention by saying, "hello are you interested in learning more about the visual design part of the CTE academy?" I used that line pretty much all the time to get the attention of the freshmen who looked lost or confused. I think what went well was that most of the freshmen, all the ones I met with, had an interest in the subject because of the amount of questions they asked and how detailed their questions were. Lab #12 Reflection

This lab was fun to learn but a little difficult at first. If you were learning adobe illustrator for the first time and had to do something with it, you would have a lot of trouble if you weren't reading the tutorials or listening to them. At first for me personally it was a little hard trying to figure out what to do. I go to the lab pretty much every day on my free period. Lunch personally is boring for me. Let's get back on topic. I took my time to read the tutorial for adobe illustrator again and absorb what I read. I did the extra reading to scan what I needed to complete the lab and what skills were needed to complete it. Though I wish I can post my work here, I really can't due to the fact it is saved in a pdf file. At first the file was in an .ai file but since I had to submit it in for a grade it was transferred into a pdf file for viewing purposes. It was something we learned from reviewing adobe illustrator.
