The Cost of Free
When I hear the title, The Cost of Free, I get the idea that there is a downside to some things being free. This means that there are drawbacks to using free products or apps. I would explain The Cost of Free to someone I just met in 60 seconds by being general about free things. I would say something like using free apps may have the benefit of being free but don't keep your privacy safe within its margins. An app that takes personal information and is paid would be most likely more trustworthy then a free app that wants you to input personal information. I would install a free app to see if it has a privacy or data policy of any kind. If it did then it would be ok to trust. If not, then it wouldn't be secure enough for others to trust. Since in this case I'm not using an app, but instead a website, I'll use google for example. The website's main page looks fairly simple when it comes to styling. It has a white background but has many features to it which makes it good. Since google is free to use, it may have a cost to others but I think that it is safe. This is because of the privacy policy that is stated within the website.
How would you know that a privacy policy that is stated from a website is legit and not fake?
How is the data managed from within an app or website?
I would like to know how data can be received from the input of other users directly.
To find this out I would like to meet a company of a website and learn from them how it works.
I would use google a lot because it is a very resourceful website. It has everything you would ever need to ask. Google is just the answer to everything.
