Blog Intro

Hey everyone! Allow me to introduce myself, I am Brandon Wilson, a senior at Information Technology High school! I am currently apart of the Web Design academy in Web Client Programming (WCP). I am interested in this field of study because it involves coding revolving around creating websites and making them interactive. This same code can also be used to make interesting games and that is where my dream falls under. I plan to become a game developer and create games that others would enjoy. The only thing stopping me from doing that is my current knowledge. I need to learn more about coding to be able to create more in depth games that involve deeper and more sophisticated mechanics. So in order to be able to do that, I have to keep on learning.

 In my academic life I have always been successful from the beginning of high school. This is when I started taking school more seriously and followed the path of a scholar. Middle school and elementary were my years that I didn't think of school as important because I didn't find a reason to be. What would a game developer need to learn history for? What about science? I always thought about these things and it never made sense but I continued learning them anyways because its not like I had a choice. Here I am today, still questioning some of the things I am learning. Others would see me succeed and compliment me for being smart. However, all I do is listen and do what I'm told to.

 Going into my personal life, I became a gamer at the age of 4 when I got my first gameboy. Sooner or later I had gotten the Wii console when it first came out for my birthday. I played the newest games when they came out, and updated to whatever device or console it was on. Currently, I am still a gamer and always will be. I own a gaming laptop with high specs and also an xbox one. I love playing games on my free time and with my friends on discord. I own a server on discord that me and many others can chat on together while playing games. I am also a very lazy person and a big procrastinator when it comes to assignments. I also love my family very much because they've done so much for me that I can never give back. I enjoy the life I am living right now and will always be open minded for the future.

          WBL Workshop #6 was about testing our interviewing skills. First thing that happened was us entering the room without knowing that we were going to be interviewed. So as a student you could say some of us were surprised about it. There were different people interviewing students that took place during this workshop. Students were set at different "stations" of people who would interview you. I was a little confused at first about what the interview would be about and what job we were actually being interviewed for to represent a mock interview. Then I realized that a perfect job for the situation would be something revolving around being a web designer. CTE Expo Reflection Journal

     The objective of the CTE EXPO was to engage the freshmen into seeing what the Web Design Academy was made of and what were the benefits of joining. It was also to make their interests peak as they could be exposed to these special skills.  To prepare for the CTE EXPO I just ran through looking for my best business attire I possibly had because I knew how important this event was, During the actual event I grabbed freshmen attention by saying, "hello are you interested in learning more about the visual design part of the CTE academy?" I used that line pretty much all the time to get the attention of the freshmen who looked lost or confused. I think what went well was that most of the freshmen, all the ones I met with, had an interest in the subject because of the amount of questions they asked and how detailed their questions were. Lab #12 Reflection

This lab was fun to learn but a little difficult at first. If you were learning adobe illustrator for the first time and had to do something with it, you would have a lot of trouble if you weren't reading the tutorials or listening to them. At first for me personally it was a little hard trying to figure out what to do. I go to the lab pretty much every day on my free period. Lunch personally is boring for me. Let's get back on topic. I took my time to read the tutorial for adobe illustrator again and absorb what I read. I did the extra reading to scan what I needed to complete the lab and what skills were needed to complete it. Though I wish I can post my work here, I really can't due to the fact it is saved in a pdf file. At first the file was in an .ai file but since I had to submit it in for a grade it was transferred into a pdf file for viewing purposes. It was something we learned from reviewing adobe illustrator.
