Bragging Sheet

Brandon Wilson
What do I know?

Hello, my name is Brandon Wilson, a senior at Information Technology High School. My passion lies within games as I enjoy playing them and plan to develop my own someday. Video games are a great way to both kill time and enjoy spending it with friends. I use discord a lot, a social platform for gamers, and I owned a few servers there too. My name in the online world is Lord, which refers to my ego to have overconfidence in the games I play to win. I am a very competitive person who doesn't like to lose, but when I do I laugh it off as a joke. I enjoy the life of gaming as it has always kept me busy.

Now, time to be honest with my school life. I hate homework but end up doing very well in school. I don't really study at home by myself but I pay very close attention in class. I believe I can excel much more in school by taking time at home to study but I just choose not to because I want to enjoy my life and not try to force myself to be into studying to overwork myself. I am a very big procrastinator when it comes down to projects or assignments. I always wait until the last second and then complete the assignment, so technically I get them in on time, but it's kinda stressful to think about. I sometimes think the pressure of procrastination pushes me to do well on my assignments. On the other hand, I make sure to do all my classwork and note down what I need for the next class. I am super lazy as I never want to do anything, even go outside to go get something. I enjoy the comfort of my room and waking up for school gets me disappointed just a bit. However, making a big deal about it won't change anything so I've gotten used to it. I've always liked technology and hope to see what is next to come in the future.

Let me add on my search through colleges to this. Wanting to become a game developer, there only exist a few colleges that have a major within this field. My plan for my career in game developing lies in a certain order as I progressively get better at it. My first kind of games I want to make are visual novels. These are story games that you can progress through and possibly lead the story of the game based on your choices that you make. This leaves excitement for others to want to find out what happens at each of the endings and it fuels people to wanna play visual novels out. Telling stories is something I tend to be naturally good at because of my huge imagination. I developed this imagination by spending the majority of my time watching anime. As I get through this phase of my game developing career, I want to create roleplaying games (RPGs). These are games where you can roleplay as another character or even create your own in the digital world. You can then do different things with these kinds of characters and I wanna create this digital world so that others could enjoy and have fun within it. My last kind of work, in the peak of my career, is developing games within virtual reality (VR). Welcome to 2020, we are the generation of the future. I would like to persist in making games where people can virtually play games and have it as realistic as possible. They can live in their VR world while being exposed to high-quality gameplay that responds to the users' movement via motion trackers, cameras and etc. This is a lot to get through, and just because I say it, doesn't mean it will be easy to do. I play to pursue this career and dive deep into our future to create the next generation of videogames for all kinds of gamers.
