Project #2 - Shark Tank
Project #2 was called Shark Tank. This is very similar to the tv show Shark Tank where businesses are revealed to the shark tank to judge them and see if they have something profitable. For this project, we were instructed to make websites for client businesses. We first interviewed everyone's companies which gave us a basic idea as to what everyone's company was about. Then, we were to create websites for two of them which were given to us as clients. We were basically a marketing team to try and sell them a website that they would approve of as sharks. Our team was called FilTier Marketing Co. This website was to advertise their product and it would have to be a website worth selling to them.
The two clients that my group was assigned were Love and STCS.
So let's start with how we went about designing Love first. Their company's goal was pretty simple. They wanted to increase the fundings for teachers in order to enhance the quality of their education. We made a few pages to get this point across for them. On the home page, it displays Love's mission statement briefly. It discusses who they are and what their future plans are. The next page is the research page. This page contains the teacher incomes across all the 50 states in the United States. The trends show that teachers are getting paid little compared to the work they are doing to create the future of society by teaching us, students. The page after that is the about us page. On this page, there is contact information via email of each member of our marketing team as well as the client team we created the website for. Lastly, we have a donation page. Using JavaScript, I made a form that users can fill out to donate a certain amount of money to the Love Foundation for them to help increase the funding for teachers.
Moving on to the next client, STCS. For their website, we used a similar layout we did for the last page and had kept similar elements. This includes the navigation bar and the about us page. On the home page of this website, we talk about how delays and over-crowding is very stressful to a huge amount of people. We also included images of crowded subway stations with a JavaScript animation that says "lets make better services" on them. The next page is the delays page, which contains research related to the way people feel on crowded trains and etc. It also shows the amount of delays that are caused on the trains as well. There is also an about us page with the same format as we did with Love. It has us as the marketing team and the founders of the company's site we worked on. Lastly, we have a services page that allows you as a user to input any kind of information related to your experience with the trains so that help can be given to you and other users.
In the end, both websites that our company made lost completely to the other clients we were competing against...
Good game.
